Fear Not

Fear finds us in many different forms from anxiety and worry to doubt and disappointment. These emotions wreck havoc on our minds and lead to faltered performance. Collectively I have learned these negative emotions stem from selfishness and lack of faith.

The way to overcome them is by gradual and persistent growth in inward knowledge. All of life's answers are planted in our own self-mastery. "In the measure that you master yourself, that you control your mental forces instead of being controlled by them, in just such measure will you master affairs and outward circumstances." (James Allen)

Looking back, I have struggled with a self-defeating mentality most of my life. Only now, after much much reading and observation have I realized how much pain and suffering I have caused myself. With such a mentality I was never giving myself the full opportunity to succeed. I had one foot in the door, going for it, and another foot outside the door stuck in the trap of "what ifs" and "I'm scareds." This is no way to live...not productively, successfully or happily anyhow.

Proudly this is a mountainous task I am committed to working on daily for the rest of my life. I remain aware, ready to catch and rid myself of any self-limiting thoughts. I slip all the time but that is part of growth...recognizing when you have fallen off path and getting yourself up again. I have heard before, unwavering faith and purpose constitute the motive power of life. This is how I choose to proceed...with faith and purpose.

Whatever your position in life may be, I hope you choose to focus your thoughts, guide them into positive states of strength, power, joy, belief and service. From here you will begin to realize more potential in yourelf than you ever knew before. You will enjoy challenges knowing as long as you put forth your best effort you have succeeded. You will ease through defeats looking for the lesson every failure in life holds for us. Our every circumstance begins within!

Inner Voice

Have you ever suddenly realized you have lost touch with yourself?

Recently I realized how much I was allowing external cues to dictate my actions. From meal plans telling me how much, when and what to eat to my interpretations of others judgements, thoughts and expectations on how I should handle life. This is incredibly out of line for me...(okay maybe not the meal plan part...working on that). However, I realize accepting these cues puts me further and further out of touch with my own intuitive nature. No matter the circumstance I believe it is critical to keep grounded with a solid root system of thoughtout values, principles and goals. The more you nurture your root system the further and deeper it will grow. With such security in your foundation the higher you can reach and the more you can achieve!

Besides, putting so much effort into constantly living by others visions and standards is exhausting and can leave you feeling unfullfilled. Only you know your true desires, your dreams, strengths and aspirations. I find when listening to my inner gps (this can take practice) and responding accordingly I am more inclined to perform at my best, more inspired to live with intensity because I am living with passion! Be mindful of why you choose to do what you do and make sure you are doing it for the right reasons. Along the way remember to play and have fun!
